Yesterday marked the birthday of one of my favorite style icons – Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She would have turned 85.
Jackie had an impeccable sense of style that, because it was typically understated, always looked effortlessly chic. She wore little jewelry, save for her signature pearl necklaces, and single-handedly put the pillbox hat on the fashion map. Her signature sunglasses and Hermés scarves were her wardrobe staples copied the world over.
Still, no matter the masses who have attempted to duplicate her look, none of us can deny there was no one quite like Jackie.

Great photo.. A true classic…
I adore her style as well! Great post.
Thanks so much, Cherie!
Couldn’t agree more with you. She was definitely a style icon and one many women need to refer to more often these days. Simplicity can be so classy when done right. Thank you for this reminder.
I so agree, Trina. Understated elegance never goes out of style, does it :)
A woman with impeccable style and grace. She will always be remembered.
Whether walking on the beach in casual attire or dressed for a gala event, Jackie always got it right.
Another style icon, I love what she is wearing in the first picture. Always classic

I love the juxtaposition between the two photos. She looked fabulous in everything!
Whilst I like the dress in the first picture, I am not sure about the accessories and the hairstyle ;-)
I much prefer the overall look and feel of the second picture.

While I love the second look as well, and definitely am drawn to the moodiness of the black and white photography, Jackie could do no wrong in my book. I found the first photo and her attire equally captivating.
Thanks for stopping by, Alex!
So very very true. No one like her!
I love the Jackie O look. Your right, copied a million times over. Imagine having to copy that hair !
