I always feel energized when I get back from New York. Not only is this city a visual feast (jackpot territory for a girl with a camera) but there’s also this underlying current running through it – a kind of palpable earnestness in the pace of the people that I find really addictive. Especially now. Lately, I’ve been struggling with working from home. I seriously miss the stimulation and camaraderie of working with fellow creatives. When I moved my studio into my home a few years back I guess I never anticipated the impact it would have on my creativity. Brainstorming with a party of one is definitely tough. I do like things completely quiet when I’m writing, but the truth is, sometimes it’s just too quiet. Thankfully, New York is anything and everything but.
With that in mind, this week on the blog it’s all about New York- the people, places and things that made this trip truly memorable – stories and more that I hope will inspire and entertain you.
I’ll tell you about my evening with French fashion blogger Garance Dore and her partner, Scott Schuman, famed for his street style blog, The Sartorialist, and introduce you to a New Yorker whose essence I know you will love. That and more coming this week. And since we’re talking about New York, do you have any NYC tales you’d like to share?
Love the cities vibe as well.. Looking forward to your stories and favorite
places and spaces NY offered on your last trip….
I have never been to NYC, but hope to one day visit. I look forward to your stories on Garance!
You’re so lucky, I went to New York when I was a teen, and have always wanted to go back! Have fun! :)
NYC’s energy is addictive, no? I love it there.
I feel the exact same way about New York, the energy is addictive, although by the time I get on the plane to come home, I’m ready for some quiet and green. It’s my #1 favorite little get-away. My daughter and I have it down to a system, we fly in early on a Thursday morning, hit a nice dinner and a play, Friday we do some shopping or museum and then another play. Saturday we get up early do some shopping, and go to a matinee and then another evening play. We’re huge broadway fans. We also get up in the mornings and take our morning jog in Central Park. Such a fun girl’s get away. I’m so looking forward to reading your posts this week.
Oh my I can’t describe my feeling whenever I’m at NYC!! There’s something about that city that makes me so excited!!!
I lived in NYC for 10 years, from adolescence to young adulthood. In my heart, I still call it home. I’m so looking forward to reading your stories!
The most incredible city in the world and so excited that I’m able to live there and experience all it has to offer! There’s so much that is free in this city and so few people really understand that!
