Climbing the career ladder, no matter what rung of the ladder you happen to be perched on, can be downright daunting at times. That’s why it’s so wonderful when those on the road ahead of us are willing to offer a helping hand via wisdom and knowledge. I have, over the years, mentored many people at all ends of the age spectrum about the ins and outs of the job market and how best to approach their own unique career quest. Whether it be from the purely superficial, as in what to wear to a job interview, to the more consequential, as in how do I pitch myself for a job or promotion, I have used my two decades worth of experience as a TV news anchor and reporter to help guide others.

That idea of mentoring and inspiring others with our stories is the driving force behind the new series I’ll be kicking off this Friday called Career Chronicles. I’ll be introducing you to amazing individuals at all points in their career climb—from those just starting out to those who have already made it—because the truth is, there is much to learn from another’s journey. Knowledge is, indeed, power, and the more wisdom we can glean from others, the better equipped we will be for the road ahead.

Be sure to stop by this Friday when Executive Chef Fran Byrne shares her story.
