Have you heard? Vince – a brand known for its elevated basics and one of my personal favorites – has jumped into the rental clothing market. Vince Unfold joins a growing number of retailers – Bloomingdales and Banana Republic to name a few – looking for new ways to capture consumer dollars at a time when people are spending less than ever on clothing purchases. The subscription-based service costs $160 a month and includes four items, unlimited exchanges and free two-way shipping.
I haven’t jumped on this bandwagon yet, mostly because I can’t imagine having to give my clothing back after wearing it. Still, I love the sustainability aspect of this business model and with an already overflowing closet it might be something for me to consider.
How about you? Have you ever rented clothing before? Is this a trend you’re considering?
