The Countdown has begun!
73 days from today my sweet girl will say “I do” to the love of her life.
I knew this engagement year would fly by but I’m not sure even I could have imagined how quickly. From the moment Katherine’s fiancé asked us for her hand in marriage (yes, he did it the old-fashioned way, and I love him even more for that :) ) to the amazing engagement party we threw this past February, to an incredible pre-wedding celebration in Southern California this past May, I’ve tried hard to make this year about more than just wedding planning. Yes, it’s easy to get caught in that trap and yes, there’s an infinite amount of work that goes into hosting a milestone event like this, but I never wanted to lose sight of the fact that we should be celebrating love the entire leg of this journey since we will never walk this way again. And so we have. Our family of three (not counting Bella :) ) has now grown to four. It is as though Evan has been with us all along. That is something to truly celebrate.
After October and the big day I will finally spill all on what went into planning this wedding and believe me, there is a lot to say – the good, the not-so-good and the amazing details coming soon :)

My stepdaughter gets married in just over a week —– seems to have been a long time in planning but now is approaching rapidly! She and her finance did most of the planning themselves and it’s definitely going to be different to the usual wedding. On a UK beach (hopefully the fantastic weather will continue!) and the bride is definitely a bit rock n roll! Love to read (and see) about weddings so looking forward to more about your daughter’s.
