Good morning!
It’s a pleasure for me to be co-hosting the Thursday Moda linkup with Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood today. I don’t think I know a kinder fashion blogger, always at the ready with the sincerest of compliments that can make not only a person’s day but their entire week. Those of you familiar with Ada know what I’m talking about. She exudes pure joy right down to her colorful, eclectic style aesthetic. If you don’t know Ada, do stop by her blog and join in the linkup that you’ll find at the bottom of this post.
Today we’re styling that whisper of a color – blush along with spring shoes. This isn’t always the easiest color to pull off until you understand that blush comes in a multitude of hues. Some more pink, others more rose and still others bordering on nude. The trick is finding the shade that best compliments your skin tone.
The color of my silky skirt and top is the perfect blush for me – nude with pink undertones. The overall look, with its flirty, feminine asymmetric ruffle hemline, has a dreamy quality about it – light and airy and so pretty for spring. I wanted to play up this pairing’s sophisticated yet subtle aesthetic and went monochrome save for the subdued contrast from my faux snakeskin clutch. The skirt and top, from a favorite line of mine – Elizabeth and James – is understated but still manages to make a major impact. It’s fresh, it’s modern and it has edge, partly owed to my platform sandals – a fluke of a find. I spotted them the other day at Nordstrom and couldn’t believe how perfectly they paired up with my outfit. And, what a steal! Prada makes a similar shoe but these are considerably less, priced at under $100. A floaty confection of a look that I know will be one of my favorites this season.
