There’s a new style star walking the red carpet this awards season—Lupita Nyong’o—whose impeccable wardrobe choices have stood out above all the rest. Not only did Nyong’o take home the Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress on Saturday night for her role in “12 Years A Slave,” she also, in my opinion, won the award for Best Dressed. Her form-fitting turquoise Gucci gown with beaded floral appliques was simply exquisite.
When she picked up a Critics’ Choice Award last Thursday she wowed in a sleek white Calvin Klein gown with bandeau top and cutouts. But perhaps it was her choice for the Golden Globes that put her on the map, where she stunned in a glamorous red column gown with cape by Ralph Lauren.
If her choices so far are any indication, Lupita will be the one to watch at this year’s Academy Awards, and I for one can’t wait.
