This vintage 1940s photograph of my mother and her high school friends is such a great example of that old adage that everything old is new again. Just look at all those plaids and checks, so big right now, but back then simply part of a dress code. Little did these ladies know that the fabric used for their school-enforced uniforms would one day become iconic.
