The Backstory

Formerly known as Le blog de Marie, I’ve been sharing the art of my life since 2011, writing about style, culture, design and life. At its inception this space gave expression to my shock and grief over learning that my beloved mother was dying. Read about her here,  here and here. As my website has evolved it has never been without my mother’s influence. Her beauty , grace and courage have left a lasting imprint on my life and there is no question I owe my love of fashion, food and all things beautiful to her. She taught me that come what may anyone can live an inspired life. My hope is that those things that inspire me will also inspire you. One of my favorite quotes says it best –
