Don’t forget the sunscreen – that’s my mantra as I head out the door each day. I choose one with an SPF of at least 30 but finding the right one is not as easy as it sounds. Most are loaded with toxic chemicals that can mess with hormones and throw the endocrine system out of whack. Who wants to slather a bunch of toxic chemicals onto their skin?! Not me. That’s why it’s so important to shop for a clean sunscreen and always read the list of ingredients before buying anything.

A Good Sunscreen Should Be –

Mineral-Only

Mineral-based and mineral-only are two different things. Go with the latter and make sure the product’s inactive ingredients are non-toxic as well.

Water-Resistant

If you love outdoor activities as much as I do you’ll want to make sure your sunscreen is water-resistant. That way it won’t slide off your face during that long bike ride.

Broad-Spectrum

A broad-spectrum sunscreen works double-time, blocking both the UVA AND UVB rays of the sun.
