Good morning and happy International Women’s Day, a day that celebrates the achievements of amazing women all around the world. It is also a day that reminds us to go forth and continue to push for gender equality. And while we’re pushing, why not dress ourselves in this season’s dynamic duo – pink and red.

Though you wouldn’t necessarily know it by my mostly monochromatic style, I happen to love this combo. Red lends power to the pretty pink and adds a dash of fierce that lets people know you mean business.

But, make no mistake about it, wearing pink on its own can be equally empowering.

Empowering you say?

That divisive color that seems to signal in so many a major disdain;

the presumption that if you wear pink you must surely be weak;

the girly-girl color meant for six-year olds and Barbie dolls?

Well, I’m here to tell you that stereotypes are made to be broken and wearing pink does not limit you to being some kind of damsel in distress. Yes, pink fell on hard times for a while, and there are certainly those who will never accept it, but it is back big-time this spring and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Perception is rarely reality.

Don’t judge a color by its…well, color.

So what do you think of this combo? Would you wear them together?
