I’ve talked many times here about details, how subtle and not so subtle design elements can upgrade closet staples and turn them into closet stars. That is certainly the case with Theory’s Lexanda top, a top that puts a fresh spin on the classic striped shirt. I’m always on the hunt for elevated basics and this top – with its peplum silhouette and bell cuffs – checks all the right boxes . I love its better than basics vibe and its versatility is another huge perk. This is one of those shirts that can easily take you from day to night. Most recently I wore it with Club Monaco leather pants for a date-night, but I’ve also worn it casually with these jeans and these, as well as a pencil skirt similar to this one from Vivienne Westwood.

Another great thing about this top is that it doesn’t have to be worn alone. As you can see, paired with a moto jacket, the shirt’s details are highlighted in the prettiest sort of way- the peplum hem and ruffle cuffs subtly peak out from beneath the jacket.  I love this shirt so much I’m actually thinking about picking it up in black  (yes, it comes in black ) because of course, you know how I love black :)
