You know how some things just call to you? I knew when I spotted this petal perfect Rebecca Taylor dress I had to have it…

had to have it

because it seems inspired by my favorite South Florida tree – the Tabeuia.

I told you about my love for the magnificent flowering tree here.

Coming upon it during my daily runs or walks is like seeing an old friend.

To find a dress that so closely mirrors the historic tree is serendipitous really, given the number of times I have spent contemplating and meditating under its golden blossoms.

Lucky me that every time I wear this floaty confection I will be reminded of the beauty of this particular tree.

Nice perk…

With its embroidered yellow blooms set against a backdrop of the palest buttercup organdy, the dress is a stunning tribute to the Tabeuia. Pretty nuanced details include an angled back cutout and ladder stitch insets that frame the bodice and define the waist.

This is one of those summer dresses that is incredibly versatile

It’s perfect for a Sunday brunch – which is where I wore it –

but also works beautifully for a bridal shower, christening, even a morning or afternoon wedding. No doubt this dress will be a summer favorite.
