Light Layers

Good morning and happy Monday! Modern simplicity in grey, black and white today, wearing my new favorite layered funnel neck sweater with skinny jeans and open toe booties (super deal and so comfortable!). The sweater’s crisp poplin shirttail and white cuffs create a layered illusion that eliminates bulk and keeps things looking long and lean. Make it a great day! The Cocoon Coat

Good morning and happy Monday, everyone! The big chill arrived yesterday on the heels of our 70-plus degree weather on Saturday. It may sound like a contradiction, but yes, layering can be sleek, depending on the bulk of the pieces you choose. As is the case with my look today, sometimes all it takes is the addition of a belt to keep those layers from swallowing you up. I’m wearing wide leg trousers – a wardrobe staple in...

Suddenly, Last Summer

Summer slipped out the door early this morning and just like that it is behind us. The season of blue skies and barbecues, of balmy temps and long languid days has quietly acquiesced to one of the loveliest of seasons – fall. Still, it is never easy for me to let go of summer. I’m  struck by the fact that while it most certainly will come again it will never be experienced quite like the one that just ended. The people, the adventures, every road I have traveled, all are memories now, part of my story. And yet, that...
